Works really well. Quite limited with just the base unit only, but after we established that this works perfectly for us - we bought the extra expansions to take it up to maximum 9.6kWh capacity. At this level it will put out 475W all day long (19 hours of expensive rate) and then can be charged at night from cheap rate tariff and solar in the day. We have 2 panels but are adding the other 2 shortly.
The app is not that intuitive, but works well once you understand its nuances.
People keep complaining that the weather doesn't show their location - but in About, Third Party sharing - it shows QWeather. Simply click this and add your location and it works perfectly.
In essence - instructions are a bit poor and actually do not show all the actual features even.
Very easy to set up and install I have it working with a Shelley meter and I get one hour of cheap electricity at night which charges it from two to three and then the panels kick in once it starts to get light I have two 460 panels from city Plumbing I've had it for just over two months and it's made a decent saving.
I purchased 3 of these units from a third party retailer, they work fantastically and do exactly what you'd expect.
Unfortunately build quality Is an issue..
One of the units came with a lose screw and lose MC4 connector.. My concern is the wires coming further exposed and risk of electric shock, also having the lose MC4 exposes a risk if water ingress and possible electric fire.
I reached out to the after sales team who advised to "continue using the product. Should any further issues arise, can contact Aferiy’s after-sales team to arrange a replacement."
I found the installation of the PS 240 straightforward, I was careful to label the cables to each solar panel (4 x 515 watt) and found connecting to the unit was easy, the PV light on the unit indicating the cable was connected correctly. I had previously installed a Shelly Smart Monitor in the house grid supply. Using the AECC app it correctly discovered the unit and Shelly, it was then just a matter of inclusion in home WIFI. I found the app was okay but needs improvement,the explanations of terms not immediately clear in the help.
To get the benefit of the solution a Shelly Smart Meter is required.
AEC Cloud App has just received an upgrade but still work todo.
Off grid plugs should be used for exactly that. Just use the on-grid plug.
Get 2 and you get double the output. Get 3 triple.
Just missing more batteries now which will be coming in the next few months.
A real contender against EcoFlow.
Great battery, app is confusing though
Small solar setup with 1200w of solar. Have tested the 800w output and the smart meter sees the input so less drawn from grid.
