    Can AFERIY solar panels actually output 400W in good lighting conditions during actual use?

    No, it cannot. We understand your expectations for the product's performance, but it is a common phenomenon in the solar panel industry that the actual power output does not reach the rated value. The reasons are as follows:

    Firstly, the rated power is measured under standard test conditions, usually tested under ideal sunlight intensity, temperature, and angle conditions (the rated power of solar panels is typically measured under standard test conditions (STC), which is power measured under conditions of 1000W/m² of light intensity, 25℃ temperature, and vertical sun angle).

    However, factors such as actual installation environment, sunlight intensity, temperature, and shading can affect the power output of solar panels. These conditions may not be fully met, resulting in actual output power lower than the rated power. Therefore, under optimal conditions, the actual power output of a 400W solar panel would be around 300-320W (about 75%-80%).

  • Beeping sound: When the solar panel is connected and it gets dark, the insufficient energy conversion due to the weakening of light may cause repeated charging restarts (equivalent to repeatedly plugging and unplugging the charging plug to start charging) and the internal relay of the AFERIY portable power station to repeatedly operate, resulting in a beeping sound.

    Therefore, it is recommended to unplug the charging plug when there is no sunlight at night or when there is insufficient energy conversion from the solar panel, and charge when there is sufficient light and stable energy conversion.

  • Why does the AFERIY power station make a sound when connected to a solar panel until there is no sunlight at night?

    The AFERIY portable power station is equipped with a relay, which serves to protect the power station and connected devices from damage caused by current abnormalities such as overload and short circuit.     Bought the Aferiy AF-P210 as a stand by mainly for when the power goes off as often happens where we live. When it arrived first impression was how well it was packed. Then after reading simple instructions it was put on charge which only took just over two hours. We used it that night just to try it on TV, table lamp and laptop about 5 hours it actually lasted three nights and still had about 20% charge left, a little buzz from the fan when you first turn it on then silent this is a very quiet machine you do not know it's there.
    I have since used it to power our Air Fryer and in my shed on small power tools etc. and charging it via Solar Panel which we purchase at the same time and it works very well.
    So far very pleased with our purchase.

    Excellent design

    This panel is so cleverly designed , that its own four legs hold it up at good angles. The legs retract and the six panels fold to the size of one, each panel holding itself to the next with velcro. And it's in its own zippable and attached case. Only 9kg. Great design. The 400 Watt panel tends to give about 320 Watt on a good sunny day.
